NAME: Ellen Adarna
REAL NAME: Ellen Meriam Adarna
BIRTHDAY: September 15, 1988
BIRTH PLACE: Cebu
JOB: Image Model

TITLE: Queen of Myspace

Known as Philippines’ Queen of MySpace for her very famous pretty face on all social networking sites. She appeared in the July 2005 and June 2006 covers of Candy Magazine.
  • Her online celebrity status started from her obsessive posting of self-portraits taken from camphones, sometimes even with a male partner in a bedroom setting. This led to numerous fake social networking accounts that used her photos, and an army of yet to reach puberty perverts posting obsessive and disturbing messages all over the internet.
  • The Adarna's are in known in owning the biggest motels in CEBU the QUEENSLAND motel.
  • Her mother is a Chinese and a Spanish father.
  • Here are some parts of her interview in FHM.
  • So who are you? Really?
    I’m a Cebuana. One-hundredpercentCebuana—yes! I’m just a normal girl, I hang out with friends.I’m a very bubbly person. I’m not
mataray. I’m very friendly. I’m very frank. I’m the only daughter—I have four brothers—but I’m not really sheltered. My dad brought me up the American way. I began working when I was in the fourth grade in our family business—real estate and a motel chain. Summers I didn’t have allowance; I had to work for it. It was that way up until college. And then after college I still didn’t get anything; I had to work for my own money. My dad didn’t support any of my kalokohan.

    Was college a Catholic School?
No, it was an International school.

Were you really that famous in Cebu?
Most people know me because everyone knows everyone in Cebu. Ang liit lang ng Cebu. So parang wala lang, there’s no such thing as being famous in Cebu.

They say you’re a socialite. Are you?
I’m not really what you would call a socialite. It’s just the people I hang out with are socialites. So ganon, hindi naman talaga ako tumodo [being a socialite]. Barkada ko sila, and they’re the people I trust. I have different groups of friends, like those from high school—not all of them are socialites. It’s just that I’m very outgoing, I can hang out with anyone.

Did these friends all belong at the top of the social strata?
I have so many friends, from all walks of life, and I don’t really judge.

How the hell did those pictures get picked up by the general online public?
Well, the social networking sites didn’t start out being private, di ba? So like everyone else I was posting self-portraits, pictures with my friends and all that. And then suddenly, people began adding me up, using my profile. And then yung ibang tao tinatawag akong “baby,” kasi daw girlfriend daw niya ako—na ginagamit lang naman yung picture ko, and I was, like, “Okay…ang labo naman nito!” I was really irked by all that.

Do you have any idea who began the chain of Ellen on theNet, like a jealous best friend perhaps?
No, I don’t think so. I don’t think it comes to that. They were just random people on Friendster and it got blown out of proportion.
Did you get to read much of what was written about you?
I used to. I had Googled my name maybe about four or five times and after that, I just stopped.
